Third times the charm! My clients hired us for the third year in a row to capture some great beach portraits and memories. The weather was great in Treasure Island FL for this sunset portrait session and I love seeing how their children have grown and matured!

Summer Sunsets in Treasure Island Florida

My clients were visiting from Norway and Staying in Indian Rocks Beach. Luckily I was able to schedule their portrait session during the busy July Holidays. This evening started out overcast, but we were pleasantly surprised with the amazingly colorful sunset! I have included a behind the scenes look at how we light our sunset shots with a boom arm light stand and two SaberStrip flash modifiers, each with a Nikon SB 800 inside. You can also see why we love Treasure Island Beach… great dunes, natural grasses and a nice positioning to view and photograph the sunset.

Don Cesar Hotel St Pete Beach Florida Family Sunset Portrait Photos

My clients hired us to photograph their family at the Don Cesar Hotel in St Pete Beach during the Fourth of July holiday week. That week gave us beautiful weather, amazing sunsets and beach portrait sessions almost every night that week! My clients boys were at the age where for two of them, posing for the camera isn’t exactly fun. In these circumstances, I give the kids some active direction to help them enjoy an evening at the beach. At then end of the session, the boys were so sweet in thanking us for a great evening! I love this section of St Pete Beach because it offers lovely views of the Don Cesar Hotel, and looking south at Pass A Grille Beach.

St Pete Beach Treasure Island Family Beach Portraits at Sunset

My clients were vacationing in Indian Rocks Beach Florida and hired us to photograph their family at the beach in Treasure Island St Pete Beach. In between the summer rainstorms, we were able to capture some amazing dramatic skies for their portrait session. I usually start family beach portrait sessions about one to one and half hours before the actual sunset to allow plenty of time for changing weather patterns and natural light. We were not able to photograph much past sunset at this session, but the skies and natural light beforehand were amazingly beautiful! I don’t like rushing at portrait sessions and that’s why I don’t offer mini sessions of 30 minutes or less; I can’t even imagine figuring out which 30 minutes at this session would have been ideal light; the beach in Treasure Island on this evening gave us so many different looks! Kids have a great time at the beach, and even toddlers do well at this time of day.

Tradewinds Island Grand Resort St Pete Beach Family Portrait Session at Sunset

My clients stayed at Tradewinds Island Grand Resort for several days this summer and I had a great time capturing their portraits, especially of the age range of their children. The youngest at 9 months amazed me with his love of playing in the sand! I really like the black, cream and tan clothing that they wore to their sunset portrait session. Black works well at the beach since it looks good, even when wet and I really like the ladies dresses.

Senior Sunset Beach Portrait Photos in Treasure Island Florida

My clients selected us to photograph their daughter’s Senior Portraits in Treasure Island and we also captured some great Family moments and portraits. The day started out with nice soft overcast daylight and we used two SaberStrips for soft directional fill light for some of the early portraits. The beautiful after effect of overcast summer days in Florida can be amazing sunsets. This session delivered a colorful sky display which went extremely well with our Seniors selection of purple chiffon floral dress.

Sunset In Treasure Island Florida Family Beach Portraits in Coral, White and Navy

Summer has arrived in Treasure Island and St Pete Beach Florida and the sunsets can be amazing this time of year. Our clients were two families vacationing together and they hires us to capture some great beach portraits. The summer rain created some nice overcast skies and for the actual sunset the clouds helped create some unbelievable colors in the sky! I really like how their outfits pop from the sand and grasses, and later at sunset the Corals, Whites and Pinks they wore coordinated beautifully with the sunset skies.
