My clients came to St Pete Beach for a vacation at Tradewinds Island Grand Resort and scheduled a family beach portrait session. After viewing our Portfolio of beach session locations, they decided on a session at Treasure Island Beach. This particular night had amazing diffused natural light and a pretty soft sunset which allowed their outfits of Navy, Nantucket Red and Nautical stripes visually pop from the beach environment. Their son was beyond adorable; a perfect 18 month model!

Bilmar Beach Resort Family Portraits

My clients were spending a week at Bilmar Beach Resort from Canada and found some of my images from a previous Treasure Island family portrait session on Instagram. I usually suggest to clients that we schedule photos early in their vacation, just in case we have rain and need to reschedule. It was an overcast and rainy day for their original portrait session date and we were able to reschedule their session for a beautiful blue sky day!

We found this amazing section of beach with a nice shallow area of water to help create these sunset reflections.
The youngest boy was not a fan of the gulf waters and needed to be held during these family sunset portraits. I convinced him that watching photos and videos of my daughter on my iPhone was entertaining while Scott quickly captured this amazing shot of his parents. We love photographing well past the actual sunset and this image showcases how beautiful the sky can sometimes be 20 minutes past sunset.
