St Petersburg FL Senior Portrait Photos at Treasure Island Beach Sunset Vistas Beachfront Suites

My clients vacation twice a year at Sunset Vistas Beachfront Suites and hired me to photograph their daughter’s photos for her high school senior portraits. I photographed this senior beach session on a beautiful November evening, with perfect clouds and a little bit of wind to add some drama! The sand at treasure Island beach had formed into ripples, so I took advantage of the effect and shot some early strobist portraits in bright daylight with two Saberstrips. I love mixing natural light portraits with strobist shots at the beach; it truly provides two different looks. As much as I love photographing clients in natural light, some of my favorite images from this session are lit by two flashes inside two SaberStrips horizontal above my client.

Sunset Senior Portraits at Treasure Island Beach Florida

Sometimes the summer rains in Florida allow for some amazing light and clouds. For this senior beach portrait session, my clients rented a house close to our favorite section of Treasure Island Beach, Florida. On this particular evening, a rain storm started at 7pm and we waited till it cleared at 7:30PM before we braved the beach. We were rewarded for our patience; the natural sunlight after this rain was beautiful soft, warm cloud filtered light. At sunset we were treated to some spectacular colors and cloud formations. Plus, this senior selected some great outfits and I truly appreciated how great she looked after having her hair and makeup professionally done before our session. She is such a beautiful young lady and we had a blast capturing these portraits.
